International Patients

International Patients

Tijuana is just minutes from San Diego, California — making it possible to receive high-specialty eye care without the typical wait times or costs in the United States. The whole process is easy: our international patient coordinator is with you every step of the way.

From your very first message to your return home, our international patient coordinator schedules your appointments, answers your questions over WhatsApp, and personally accompanies you during your visit to the clinic.

Strategic location

Minutes from the San Ysidro/PedWest international border crossing, making it easy to cross on foot or by car from San Diego and other Southern California cities.

Lodging assistance

We can guide you toward lodging options near the clinic, in the Río Zone, suitable for your procedure's recovery period.

Hotel Lucerna Tijuana
Grand Hotel Tijuana
Real Inn Tijuana by Camino Real
City Express by Marriott Tijuana Río

All located in the Río Zone, a short drive from the clinic.

Estimated recovery time

This varies by procedure: most refractive surgeries allow you to travel back the next day; cataract and other procedures may require check-ups during the first week. Your specialist will give you a specific plan based on your case.

Process for international patients

Sending us your studies before traveling helps us give you general information, but it does not replace an in-person consultation — that's the only way to fully evaluate your eyes.

1
Before you travel. If you'd like, send us any studies you already have by WhatsApp or email — we'll give you general information to help you plan your visit.
2
In-clinic diagnostic evaluation. Vision Clinic has the studies and equipment (OCT, corneal topography, biometry and more) to reach a precise diagnosis of your eye condition, all under one roof.
3
Treatment plan and payment. We give you a personalized plan and a clear quote. We accept Mexican and American cards, in pesos and in dollars.
4
Surgery or procedure. If your case requires surgery, we arrange your pre-operative studies and internal medicine evaluation the same day as your visit, so everything is ready for your procedure in a single trip.
5
Post-operative follow-up. We follow up on your recovery, including remote consultation options once you're back in your home country.
