Eyelid Surgery
Surgical correction of eyelid malpositions, lesions, and ptosis, led by our oculoplastic specialist.
General description
Dr. Cristina Plata, our oculoplastic specialist, treats a wide range of surgical eyelid conditions —always aiming to protect the eye's function along with a harmonious cosmetic result. Every case is evaluated individually to define the most appropriate procedure.

What does the surgery involve?
These are some of the surgeries we perform:
Eyelid malpositions
Surgical correction of abnormal eyelid positions: entropion (the eyelid turns inward and the lashes rub against the cornea), ectropion (the eyelid turns outward, leaving the eye exposed), and epiblepharon (a fold of skin pushes the lashes toward the eye, more common in children). Surgery repositions the eyelid to protect the eye's surface.
Removal of benign and malignant eyelid lesions
Surgical removal of eyelid lesions or growths, whether benign (such as cysts or skin tags) or malignant (eyelid skin cancer), with careful eyelid reconstruction when needed and histopathological analysis to confirm the diagnosis.
Eyelid reconstruction
Procedures to restore eyelid structure and function after trauma, oncologic surgery, or a congenital defect, aiming to preserve the eye's protection along with a harmonious cosmetic result.
Ptosis (drooping eyelid)
Surgical correction of a drooping upper eyelid, which may be purely cosmetic or affect the visual field when it covers part of the pupil.

Post-surgical care
Post-surgical care depends on the procedure performed: a simple lesion removal requires minimal care, while eyelid reconstruction requires more rest and specific care, which Dr. Cristina Plata explains in detail before your procedure. We include, at no cost, the post-surgical kit with the drops or starter care your case requires.
Post-surgical follow-up
Your recovery follow-up is always carried out by Dr. Cristina Plata, who knows your case in detail, with one month of follow-up consultations at no cost.
